About The Position

Deliver high quality recreation services for residents, visitors and the St. Charles community by adhering to the District’s safety and administrative policies and procedures. This position is well suited for someone who is friendly, energetic, and interested in assisting and engaging children in interactive recreational and educational activities.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must be willing to work with livestock, including large animals.
Should be able to work and communicate effectively with campers, parents, and farm staff.
Must be available for the entire 9-week farm camp program.
A strong background in education/childcare/coaching, knowledge of face-to-face program delivery, and a valid driver’s license.
Work/volunteer record that shows reliability, initiative, and good interpersonal skills.
Must have or complete DCFS Mandated Reporter and CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire date.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in education, recreation, or a similar field.

Responsibilities

Take initiative to develop stimulating activities for children.
Directly supervise all scheduled activities including off-site programs and pool visits.
Keep a running inventory of supplies and request supplies as needed in a timely manner.
Assist campers with basic livestock chores.
Manage groups of children.
Follow all safety procedures that pertain to duties involved.
Perform first aid and CPR as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
