About The Position

W.T. Byler, a Quanta Services Company, are seeking a highly skilled Primavera P6 Scheduler to lead overall planning, scheduling, and project control efforts across our heavy civil portfolio. This position plays a key role in both corporate planning and competitive bid scheduling, supporting pursuits and active field operations that include large-scale earthwork, site development, piling, and rail infrastructure projects throughout the Gulf Coast region. The ideal candidate will combine technical P6 expertise with a practical understanding of field construction means and methods-able to translate production rates, haul routes, and equipment spreads into logical, defensible schedules. This position will be located at the W.T. Byler office in Houston, TX.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, OR equivalent field experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience scheduling heavy civil or industrial projects (earthwork, piling, site prep, or infrastructure).
  • Senior-level proficiency in Primavera P6 and strong command of logic, calendars, and resource assignments.
  • Solid understanding of mass haul, equipment productivity, and sequencing of civil operations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with field and estimating teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience integrating cost, resource, and progress data preferred.
  • Familiarity with TxDOT, refinery, or Gulf-Coast industrial standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain Primavera P6 schedules for all ongoing projects, proposals, and internal programs.
  • Support the estimating department by building preliminary and final bid schedules that accurately model resource loading, crew logic, and critical path sequencing for major scopes such as:
  • Mass excavation and imported fill placement
  • Piling and surcharge/ground improvement operations
  • Rail embankment and track construction
  • Drainage, paving, and utility installation
  • Integrate subcontractor, procurement, and field input into unified project schedules aligned with overall execution plans.
  • Develop schedule narratives and lead schedule reviews with project management, superintendents, and executives to ensure realistic durations and activity logic.
  • Perform schedule analysis and recovery planning, identifying float erosion, weather impacts, and resource conflicts.
  • Generate monthly updates, earned-value tracking, and executive-level reporting dashboards.
  • Standardize schedule templates, activity codes, and reporting formats across the company to ensure consistency.
  • Assist with change order and delay analysis, supporting claims documentation as needed.
