About The Position
The Primate Keeper position at Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens involves providing husbandry and maintenance protocols for various primate species, including Spider Monkeys, Squirrel Monkeys, and others. The role requires a strong working knowledge of operant conditioning and its application with primates. The position reports to the Senior Primate Keeper and, in their absence, to the Curator or Director of Animal Operations. Responsibilities include diet preparation, enclosure maintenance, medical care under veterinary guidance, and public engagement as a Zoo Ambassador.
