About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing the delivery of high-quality clinical services in one of AMFM Healthcare’s core behavioral health programs. Reporting to the Executive Director, this leader ensures clients receive personalized, therapeutic, and impactful care. The Clinical Supervisor also supports and develops a team of clinicians while maintaining a strong focus on program integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement. This position combines hands-on clinical oversight with strategic leadership—ideal for a licensed clinician who’s ready to inspire change and build a career in behavioral health leadership.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university in a mental health-related field.
  • Full independent license (LPC, LMFT, LCSW) in the state of Virginia.
  • Must have active registration with the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
  • Must hold appropriate clinical licensure with board-approved supervisor status to provide clinical oversight and supervision in accordance with state regulatory standards.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a mental health treatment setting.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience in a clinical environment.
  • Must have flexibility to work some weekends on call and assist when requested on after hours crisis calls.
  • Must be 21+ years of age and eligible for required background checks.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in residential or higher-acuity mental health treatment settings.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical evaluation, biopsychosocial assessment, client diagnosis, and interpretive summaries among other assessments and evaluations, prepare person-centered treatment plans (ISP’s,), case management, consultation, education, referral as needed, provide clinical supervision and support to clinical staff while offering ongoing guidance and mentorship, and conduct comprehensive peer reviews to support the Utilization Review process.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions including crisis counseling to individuals, groups and families as needed.
  • Facilitate individual psychotherapy sessions and group therapy.
  • Provide services in accordance to organization’s policies and procedures and established Mental Health and Substance Abuse Standards as well as within the scope of practice of the therapist.
  • Evaluate the individual and family systems as well as assess clients functioning within work, family, and routines of daily living and identify areas needing continued support, resources, and treatment in order to assist clients.
  • Maintain Electronic Health Records to reflect the course of treatment and provide required documentation.
  • Prepare pre-certification/authorization information to insurance utilization review team and subsequent concurrent review (continued stay) clinical reports per medical necessity criteria.
  • Provide emergency crisis services during work hours and after hours as assigned.
  • Attend staff meetings, supervisory conferences, training, and other activities, which ensure effective and efficient functioning of clinical operations.
  • Adhere to organizational standards and policies and procedures, code of ethics, legal aspects of clinical practice, professional standards, duty to warn, abuse and neglect reporting policies and procedures and exercise professionalism at all times.
