About The Position

As the International School of Texas (IST) continues to grow, we announce our search for a full-time Lead Teachers to begin duties in August 2026. This position’s primary responsibility will be to teach International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP) students. We are accepting applications for teachers at all grade levels (ages 3-12). The primary responsibility of this position is to teach a grade level class and collaborate with IST’s subject area specialist educators (including STEM, Art, Music, Physical Education, Spanish, and Mandarin) to ensure student engagement and curriculum alignment. Preference will be given to teachers with experience teaching in an International Baccalaureate School.

Requirements

Experience teaching in the primary years
A strong belief in progressive education
Experience integrating curriculum with authentic, inquiry-based or project-based learning
Openness to new technology platforms and their integration into all aspects of the classroom
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field
Two or more years of Primary teaching experience
Pedagogical best practices integrated with SEL/Mindfulness
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Teaching Certification

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree preferred and increased stipend rewarded.
International Baccalaureate experience is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Teach a grade level class
Collaborate with IST’s subject area specialist educators (including STEM, Art, Music, Physical Education, Spanish, and Mandarin) to ensure student engagement and curriculum alignment
Lead a variety of extracurricular and club activities that enrich the IST experience
