About The Position

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Primary Medical Assistant to join our vascular team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ to assist Provider(s) in daily operations of his/her clinic and patient care. Requirements

Knowledge in medical terminology
Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required

Nice To Haves

Cardiac Experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Work with the medical assistant tech to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner
Send out prescriptions per physician orders
Fill out testing orders per physician orders & explain testing to the patient
Escort patients to check-out
Check voicemails & enter messages into NextGen
Return patient calls/tasks, even if only to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail, and that an answer is being sought
Ensure that charts have been checked and the proper paperwork is included
Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinics
Set up procedures with hospitals to include filling out hospital form and faxing them back
Review procedure and instructions with the patient
Other related duties as assigned
