About The Position

Assist with the creation and implementation of a strong, research-based primary curriculum that supports the development of literacy, math, social studies, science, daily schedules, etc., for Pre-K - 1st-grade students. Create and provide staff development, collaborate with teachers, and advise campus staff on the implementation of the primary LA, math, science, and social studies TEKS and the district curriculum. Support campus staff with the alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment through data analysis, planning, modeling lessons, training, and consulting. Establish a professional learning community (New Teacher Academy and District Model Teacher program) that supports the growth and development of new Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st-grade teachers. Plan for and support the integration of technology in all primary curricular Provide training, coordination, and assistance with the implementation of all early literacy programs and/or additional initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Primary Curriculum for Pre-K - 1st. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas teaching certification
  • Minimum of four (4) years of successful experience as an elementary classroom teacher
  • Commitment to life-long learning that supports high-quality first-time instruction, including the use of technology
  • Ability to develop and write curriculum
  • Ability to lead professional learning
  • Ability to manage data
  • Demonstrated skills in leading, motivating, and cooperating with other teachers, campus administrators, and district personnel

Nice To Haves

  • Preference is given to applicants with experience in elementary education and early childhood
