About The Position

Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. About This Role As the largest provider of PHP/IOP programs and psychiatric services in Illinois, Compass Health Center is one of the fastest-growing behavioral health organizations in the country. We are thrilled to expand our exceptionally innovative and highly distinguished programs that redefine our industry and raise the standard for comprehensive care. Launched in September 2023, our newest location in Silver Spring, MD, is home to top local talent in behavioral health care. This interdisciplinary team of trailblazers is building our adolescent and adult programs from the ground up alongside the leadership of well-established clinicians and doctors working in PHP/IOP behavioral health care for the past decade. As a Primary Therapist, you’ll work thoughtfully with our patients to develop and implement their individualized treatment plans. This role will consist of conducting individual therapy meetings, collaborating with patients’ outpatient teams, and leading patients through their overall treatment program. You’ll partner closely with the entirety of our treatment teams, including Group Therapists, Family Therapists, and Psychiatry teams to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care. This role will work with patients aged 12+ while also offering the opportunity to be cross-trained within our Adolescent specialty programs and services: School Refusal, OCD/Complex Anxiety, Mental Health and Substance Use. The Adolescent Primary Clinical Therapist is ideal for someone who is eager to collaborate with an array of clinicians and patient populations, while broadening their clinical skillset through ample training and support.

Requirements

  • Licensed Doctorate Level Psychologist, Masters Level Clinician with clinical license, or a postgraduate degree in a healthcare field
  • The ability to assist families and patients in talking about difficult topics is a necessity.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to juggle multiple demands simultaneously in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • An eagerness to lean and implement evidence-based treatment

Responsibilities

  • Conduct brief individual sessions with patients and utilize evidence-based treatment interventions
  • Complete intake evaluations as needed to determine diagnosis and appropriateness of program
  • Create and update treatment plans
  • Meet with patients individually to assess progress and guide treatment planning using outcomes, measures and Compass Care principles
  • Coordinate care with patients’ outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care
  • Assess patients’ progress and need for higher level of care or discharge
  • Communicate with patients’ family members or support system on a weekly basis or as needed
  • Communicate with patients’ school and participate in school re-entry meetings
  • Chart in our electronic medical records system
  • Engage in crisis management as part of a treatment team
  • Participate in professional development activities
  • Provide group and family therapy, as needed
  • Ensure comprehensive discharge plan including at least 1 scheduled discharge appointment with patient's outpatient provider or psychiatry team member
  • Other duties, as needed
