The role focuses on preventive health, chronic disease management, wellness visits, and acute care within a fully outpatient setting. Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Eligible for an Alabama Medical License
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Current BLS (ACLS helpful but not required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with outpatient primary care preferred but not mandatory

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care for adult and/or family patient populations
  • Perform annual physicals, wellness exams, and preventive care screenings
  • Diagnose and manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, COPD, asthma, etc.
  • Treat acute illnesses and minor injuries
  • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic testing
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and ensure proper follow-up
  • Document all patient encounters accurately in the EHR
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, MAs, and specialists
  • Participate in quality improvement, population health, and clinic initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standards
