About The Position

Nashville’s original community-based hospital, NGH, along with its two satellite clinics, is Joint Commission accredited and provides a wide range of services including emergency, acute, ancillary, and ambulatory care. NGH is dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of Nashville and Davidson County's underserved population, while also extending care to all community segments.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • Completed an accredited residency in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or a related field.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Med-Peds or a related specialty.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in primary care.
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

  • 2 years of experience in primary care

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, medical history, and diagnostic results.
  • Provide preventive care services, including routine check-ups, immunizations, and health screenings.
  • Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma, and provide ongoing monitoring and treatment.
  • Address acute medical issues, including infections, injuries, and urgent care needs.
  • Educate patients and their families about health maintenance, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including specialists, nurses, and support staff, to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans.
  • Participate in care coordination and case management to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with hospital/clinic policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Stay current with medical advancements, best practices, and guidelines in primary care.
