Madera Community HospitalMadera, CA

About The Position

Madera Community Hospital is building a primary care team that will serve as the foundation of a healthier future for our community. We’re looking for a Primary Care Physician — Family Medicine or Internal Medicine — who is ready to do more than run a clinic. We want a physician who believes in relationship-based care, thrives in a community setting, and wants to help build a patient-centered program from the ground up. This is an opportunity to practice medicine with purpose, influence how care is delivered, and become a trusted figure in a community that deeply needs accessible, high-quality primary care. What Makes This Role Unique You’ll help shape the identity of our revitalized primary care service line, not inherit one that’s already set in stone. A meaningful community shortage means your work has immediate impact — many residents currently lack reliable, local primary care access. Leadership is actively seeking clinical voices to help guide care models, patient flow, chronic disease programs, and preventive-care initiatives. Collaboration is genuine, not just buzzwords — you will work closely with hospital, specialty, and care-coordination teams to rebuild trust and continuity in the region.

Requirements

  • MD or DO trained in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • California medical license (or ability to obtain)
  • A physician who values relationships, communication, and trust
  • Passion for community medicine — especially in rural and underserved regions
  • Someone energized by building, not just maintaining

Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive outpatient primary care for a diverse patient population
  • Preventive health, chronic disease management, and continuity-focused care
  • Developing patient education initiatives and care pathways that fit the needs of the Central Valley
  • Participation in quality-improvement, access-expansion, and care-coordination projects
  • Optional inpatient rounding or leadership involvement, depending on your interests
  • Helping the hospital and clinics establish a culture built on accessibility, warmth, and reliability

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with quality and productivity incentives
  • Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance
  • CME stipend and protected time
  • Strong administrative backing as the clinic and hospital scale services
  • Room for leadership or program-development roles if desired
