About The Position

Marin Community Clinics (MCC), founded in 1972, is a multi-clinic network providing comprehensive, integrated care across Marin County. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we deliver high-quality primary care, dental, behavioral health, specialty, and referral services to nearly 40,000 individuals each year. MCC is nationally recognized and regularly receives awards from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The Primary Care Physician provides high-quality primary care to patients of Marin Community Clinics (MCC), consistent with their training and expertise, and appropriate to the ambulatory care setting provided. This role performs as a Primary Care Provider (PCP) with an assigned patient panel. Our Mission is to promote health and wellness through excellent, compassionate care for all.

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor with 3-5 years of clinical experience which may include residency in a directly related medical
  • Valid and unrestricted license issued by the Medical Board of California to practice medicine.
  • Board certified or Board Eligible in specified area of medical specialty.
  • Current registration issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) allowing the prescription of controlled substances.
  • Must maintain Continued Medical Education (CME) as required for certification renewals.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English is required.
  • Ability to see an average of 18-22 patients per full 8 hour day of clinic.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
  • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
  • Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in area of expertise.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to mentor, provide advice, and train clinical professionals, PA's/NP's and/or students in area of expertise.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience in outpatient health care setting - Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is desired.
  • EPIC Electronic Health Records (EHR) experiences a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provides high quality, evidence-based comprehensive outpatient primary care for an assigned patient panel consistent with their specialty training (e.g. Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine) and privileging.
  • Conducts routine preventive care, acute and urgent care, and follow up care for the management of chronic health conditions.
  • Provides consultation to mid-level practitioners working at the clinic consistent with their medical specialty.
  • Participates in quality management activities as assigned by the Medical Director.
  • Participates in the direction and development of health care services provided by Marin Community Clinics as a member of the primary health care team.
  • In addition to regularly scheduled shifts, must be able to work a minimum of three (3) 4-hour Saturday shifts per calendar year, providing medical care to patients within the standard scope of practice. Requirement begins after 90-day training period and compensation for coverage to be outlined in offer.
  • In addition to regularly schedule shifts, required to be available to respond to after-hour calls regarding critical lab results for adult patients throughout the organization for a minimum of 2 weeks per year. Requirement begins after 90-day training period and compensation for coverage to be outlined in offer.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervising Medical Director.
