About The Position

The Physician serves as a health-care professional capable of handling a variety of health-related problems, with work assignments involving moderately complex to complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation. This full-time, on-site role at the Edinburg clinic reports to the Associate Medical Director for the Rio Grande Valley. Humana's Primary Care Organization, operating under the CenterWell and Conviva brands, is a leading senior-focused, value-based care provider. The organization is seeking a compassionate, experienced clinician committed to improving outcomes for adult and geriatric populations within a collaborative, patient-centered environment. The role emphasizes a team-based care model focused on whole-person care (physical, emotional, and social), lower daily patient volume for deeper relationships, and a supportive culture that values teamwork, innovation, and learning.

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice
• Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine
• Required to be screened for TB if selected for this role

Nice To Haves

• 2 years' experience in value-based care or managing high-acuity geriatric patients
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Ability to pass a language proficiency assessment (Interagency Language Rating (ILR) test) if speaking with members in a language other than English

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive outpatient care to adult and senior patients
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
• Diagnose and manage moderately to complex medical conditions
• Coordinate referrals and collaborate with specialists
• Participate in clinical quality improvement projects
• Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care
• Contribute to projects and innovations in care delivery
