About The Position

Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Primary Care team in Andrews, NC. This role offers the opportunity to practice full‑spectrum outpatient primary care within a supportive, patient-centered environment serving a rural mountain community. The ideal candidate is dedicated to building long-term patient relationships, promoting wellness, and improving access to healthcare in the region. In this role, the provider will deliver comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, offering preventive care, chronic disease management, acute care, and routine wellness visits. They will conduct physical examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop individualized treatment plans that align with evidence-based guidelines. The provider will also manage chronic medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, COPD, and heart disease, ensuring continuity and coordination of care with physicians, specialists, and ancillary services within the Erlanger Health System.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Physician Assistant Program accredited by the American Academy of Physician Assistant.
  • BS/BA required or RN with a Master's degree in nursing certification in family and/or adult nurse practitioner.
  • Graduate of a nationally accredited school of nursing
  • Current NC PA License. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the North Carolina Medical Board.
  • DEA registration
  • BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward
  • ACLS
  • PALS

Responsibilities
