Fairview is seeking an Internal Medicine Physician to join our primary care practice at M Health Fairview Clinic – Cottage Grove. Our clinic offers a welcoming, small-town feel while also providing patients with access to outstanding resources and system-wide support. The practice consists of a 9 provider primary care team, including 5 Primary Care Physicians and 4 Advanced Practice Providers. The position is for 1.0 FTE with a flexible schedule, and the call frequency is low intensity at 1:3, involving phone consultation only with first tier nurse triage. The clinic utilizes a fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC). The physician will examine, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages for acute injuries, infections, illnesses, and counsel patients and families about acute and chronic conditions or concerns.

  • Examines patients, formulates differential diagnostic plans, defines and orders required diagnostic testing.
  • Provides preventative, chronic disease, and acute care depending on the need of the clinic site.
  • Ensures proper injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
  • Prescribes and administers medications, performs routine vaccinations, and provides advice regarding personal health and hygiene.
  • Interprets examination findings and test results and implements treatment plans.
  • Refers patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
  • Completes medical record and electronic order management (via in basket); and completes cross coverage depending on site needs.
  • Follows organization policies and procedures and protocols.
  • Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
  • Participates in utilization and quality tools and activities that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes or workflows.
  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA Internal Medicine residency training program.
  • BC/BE with the ABMS or AOA.
  • Licensed or ability to obtain licensure through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
