About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Primary Care Network team at the North Greece Family Medicine practice. This role involves providing comprehensive outpatient care to patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors, including preventative health maintenance and addressing chronic and acute care needs. The RN will work collaboratively with a team of LPNs, Ambulatory Techs, Physicians, and APPs, and will be responsible for telephone triage, direct patient care, medication and vaccine administration, minor laboratory testing, and patient education. The position requires strong assessment and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently. Supervision of LPNs and Ambulatory Techs may be required as assigned. Pediatric experience is required, along with one to two years of experience in direct nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent direct patient care based on established standards.
• Contribute to unit activities and support enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
• Support peers in the delivery of patient care services.
• Assume expanded roles such as charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
• Perform telephone triage and direct patient care.
• Administer medications and vaccines.
• Conduct minor laboratory testing.
• Provide patient teaching and health education.
• Supervise LPNs and Ambulatory Techs as assigned.
