About The Position

Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties is seeking a Primary Care Clinician, either a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, to provide comprehensive outpatient care focused on sexual and reproductive health for underserved women and gender diverse individuals aged 19-55. This role involves delivering primary care services, managing patient care, and participating in a collaborative healthcare team, with a commitment to equity and inclusion in healthcare delivery.

Requirements

  • Current California clinician's license.
  • Furnishing license required for Nurse Practitioners.
  • 1 year of Primary Care Experience.
  • Board Certification required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • DEA license required.
  • ACLS certification required for surgical sites.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in reproductive/primary care specialty.
  • Preferred women's health, managed/primary health care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to agency's policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Participate in health center efforts to achieve established goals for productivity and revenue cycle.
  • Provide clinical services as outlined in the PPOSBC Medical Standards and Guidelines, including abortion services and full scope of primary care clinical services.
  • Document patient data accurately and completely in the medical record.
  • Evaluate and treat medical problems, ensuring follow-up and appropriate referrals as necessary.
  • Supervise follow-up procedures for abnormal laboratory results.
  • Dispense prescription medications as ordered.
  • Manage emergency situations as they arise in the center, consulting with a physician as necessary.
  • Orient and/or train new clinicians as requested.
  • Participate in a regularly scheduled peer review process, as required.
  • Attend medical meetings as required.
  • Meet productivity goals of the center.
  • Complete and submit incident reports when necessary.
  • Take after hours call as required.
  • Assist with training/sign-off with venipuncture and/or other triaging responsibilities as needed.
  • Participate in RN and Medical Assistant training and sign-off.
  • Clinical supervision of Medical Assistants.
  • Assist with ordering, packaging, and labeling of drugs.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of technical equipment.
