Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • For Medical Assistant: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA).
  • For LPN: Diploma in Practical Nursing and active LPN licensure required.
  • Preferred: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as an EMT or Paramedic is preferred.
  • Experience in a primary care office setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for visits by completing the Advanced Standard room process, including entering chief complaints and taking vital signs.
  • Review patient history and allergies, and complete thorough medication reconciliation.
  • Work with the Encounter Guide to close open care gaps such as fall risk and depression screening.
  • Recheck elevated blood pressures and complete necessary documentation in Epic for preventative visits.
  • Assist with in-office testing, including drawing blood, completing mental status exams, and performing EKGs.
  • Administer vaccines and other injections within the scope of practice.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments as needed per office policy.
  • Collaborate with providers and the clinical care team to monitor and coordinate the delivery of care plans.
