About The Position

The East Irondequoit Central School District seeks a highly qualified candidate to fill the position of Elementary Principal at Ivan Green Primary School. The principal will provide instructional leadership and managerial oversight to all staff members, ensuring a climate that fosters the educational development of all students. The anticipated start date for this position is July 1, 2025.

Requirements

  • A valid New York State certificate as a School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS), School Building Leader (SBL), or School District Administrator (SDA).
  • A record of strong leadership experience, preferably as a building administrator.
  • A record of at least 5 years of successful teaching experience, preferably at the elementary level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of New York State learning standards, including expertise in elementary curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • Expertise in the use of research-based, best educational practices, with an understanding of research trends in education and leadership.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong literacy background.
  • Demonstrated experience using technology as a management and instructional tool.
  • Ability to communicate a culture of high expectation and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional leadership and managerial oversight to all staff members, including certified and non-certified staff.
  • Supervise and evaluate all staff members.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Pupil Personnel Services to program for special education.
  • Lead in planning and goal-setting for student achievement.
  • Utilize student data in making instructional decisions.
  • Establish and maintain an orderly school environment.
  • Coordinate elementary curriculum design, development, and implementation in cooperation with the District administration.
  • Assess and facilitate professional development needs.
  • Foster positive relationships and facilitate effective communication channels with all education stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, parents, and parental groups.
  • Assist with preparation of the building budget.
  • Assist with selection, orientation, and training of staff.
  • Administer all policies and procedures of the District.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
