About The Position

The Pricing & Yield Management Analyst will be responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining pricing strategies that optimize revenue, competitiveness, and network efficiency across the entire OmniTRAX railroad portfolio. This role combines analytical acumen, commercial insight, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver data-driven pricing recommendations that support revenue growth and yield targets. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of freight rail economics, market dynamics, and contract pricing practices, with the ability to balance customer needs and network profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Supply Chain, Transportation, or related field
  • 3–7 years of experience in rail transportation, logistics, or pricing management
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and Excel/BI tool proficiency
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to interpret market data and develop actionable pricing strategies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with short line or Class I rail commercial functions
  • Familiarity with carload costing, waybilling, and tariff management systems
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Salesforce, or rail pricing software

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain pricing models for short line markets, ensuring competitive and profitable rate structures
  • Lead RFP and bid response processes, providing pricing guidance aligned with corporate goals
  • Evaluate new business opportunities by analyzing lane-level economics, cost structures, and competitive alternatives (truck, barge, Class I interchange, etc.)
  • Recommend rate adjustments based on market trends, demand elasticity, and operating cost changes
  • Monitor short line and Class I rail rate trends, carload volumes, and customer behavior to identify pricing opportunities
  • Conduct benchmarking and margin analysis to inform negotiation strategies
  • Support annual revenue and pricing forecasts for assigned commodities and markets
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams to align pricing with service capabilities and cost realities
  • Work with Class I partners and interchange points to optimize network routing and interchange economics
  • Provide data insights to commercial leadership for strategic planning and network optimization initiatives
  • Maintain pricing databases and contract records in line with company standards.
  • Generate dashboards and analytics summarizing rate performance, yield trends, and win/loss metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with internal pricing governance and audit controls.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned
