About The Position

The Pricing and Estimating Analyst leads the Calyx intelligence engine that’s accountable for the end-to-end quoting ecosystem, including master cost table governance, quoting output standardization, margin-to-win strategy, and quoting intelligence (design-to-cost) that helps customers make informed decisions on product attributes (e.g., dimensions, substrates, and features). This role partners closely with Sales, Customer Operations, Product, Sourcing, and Finance to ensure quotes are fast, accurate, customer-ready, and aligned with Calyx operational capability. The role owns continuous improvement for the end-to-end quoting lifecycle for Calyx Command (digital ordering + workflow automation), builds a scalable Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered quoting process, that improves quote quality, reduces unnecessary customization, and drives margin and customer retention. Success is measured through improvements in adoption, on-time/in-full performance, exception rate, quote/launch cycle time, customer NPS/retention, and category contribution margin. This role will rely on advanced analytical and problem solving skills in product development, engineering, manufacturing, and project management while playing a key role in refining our processes to scale. This role is on-site at our high-tech facility in West Valley City.

Requirements

  • 3–7+ years in pricing, estimating, cost modeling, packaging/printing manufacturing, sourcing, deal desk, or commercial operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Strong competence with cost models and structured data (Excel/Sheets; comfort auditing pricing logic).
  • Ability to translate manufacturing and sourcing realities into customer-safe recommendations and repeatable rules.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration skills (Sales, Ops, Sourcing, Finance).
  • Experience administering CPQ tools, pricing systems, or product ownership of internal commercial platforms.
  • Experience building win/loss or margin analytics and operationalizing pricing governance.
  • High ownership and process discipline: SLA management, documentation, and symptom-of-record rigor. .
  • Experience developing and leveraging AI platforms to reform processes and optimize workflow

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with LabelTraxx or similar estimating/ERP tools in packaging/printing.
  • Flexpack experience (structures, vendor landscape, key cost drivers) strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with CRM/ERP systems and analytics (Excel/Sheets; BI tools a plus)
  • Knowledge and experience in launching technology solutions. Digital ordering systems a plus

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to develop effective internal and external client relationships
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Quoting System Ownership (CPQ / Tool Product Owner)
  • Own the quoting tool experience and outputs: templates, assumptions blocks, confidence indicators, and standardized volume tiers.
  • Define and enforce quote lanes and intake standards (what information is required at each stage).
  • Implement routing and prioritization rules so high-value and RFP opportunities receive appropriate focus.
  • Maintain accurate statuses and decision logs in the system of record (e.g., CRM) so quoting progress is transparent and auditable.
  • Master Cost Table & Pricing Governance
  • Own the structure, refresh cadence, version control, and auditability of master cost/pricing tables.
  • Establish vendor cost ingestion SLAs and processes (including backup coverage) to eliminate delayed cost updates.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to ensure costing assumptions (waste, run rates, setup, freight, etc.) reflect current reality.
  • Create an exception workflow for non-standard pricing or strategic deals (with documented rationale and approvals).
  • Quoting Intelligence (Design-to-Cost / Value Engineering)
  • Develop and govern a library of design-to-cost recommendations (e.g., dimension tweaks, substrate alternatives, feature simplification, print strategy, vendor routing).
  • Ensure each recommendation includes: mechanism (why it saves), impact band, guardrails, and required inputs.
  • Enable “what-if” interactions in the quoting tool to rapidly compare build options and show trade-offs (price, lead time, risk, margin).
  • Standardize a 2–3 option approach for price-fixed customers (Match Spec / Cost-Down Spec / Best Value).
  • Vendor Intelligence
  • Maintain an approved vendor capability matrix (structures, substrates, widths, finishes, MOQs, lead times, quality performance).
  • Enable multi-vendor quoting where appropriate to improve competitiveness and margin outcomes.
  • Establish supplier performance feedback loops (quality, lead time adherence, pricing consistency) to build vendor confidence.
  • Enablement, Documentation, and Continuous Improvement
  • Train Sales and relevant stakeholders on quoting workflow, assumptions messaging, and how to present engineered options.
  • Document quoting standards, rule governance, and lane criteria to reduce person-dependence.
  • Identify repetitive manual work and implement automation, templates, and reuse to increase throughput and consistency
