About The Position

The Pricing Analyst I supports the development of compliant, data-driven cost proposals for federal opportunities. This role focuses on building foundational pricing skills while contributing to labor models, cost inputs, and proposal deliverables under the guidance of senior pricing staff. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working in Excel, and able to translate technical and operational inputs into structured cost data. This position provides exposure to the full pricing lifecycle and serves as a pipeline for developing future pricing leads.

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of experience in pricing, finance, estimating, or related analytical role (GovCon experience preferred but not required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, basic modeling, data organization).
  • Ability to work with large datasets and maintain attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow structured processes and meet deadlines in a proposal environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to federal contracting, FAR, or SCA wage determinations.
  • Experience supporting proposals or working in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with labor categories, indirect rates, or cost structures.
  • Experience with data analysis, financial modeling, or business operations support.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of cost estimates for federal service contracts under direction of senior pricing staff.
  • Review RFPs and assist in organizing requirements by CLIN, task, and contract structure.
  • Build and maintain labor and cost model inputs in Excel.
  • Perform data collection and normalization using historical pricing, vendor quotes, and internal benchmarks.
  • Assist in mapping labor categories to BLS codes and SCA classifications.
  • Support development of staffing models based on provided workload drivers and assumptions.
  • Prepare cost build-up elements including labor, materials, subcontractor inputs, and ODCs.
  • Assist in identifying pricing risks, gaps, and inconsistencies for escalation.
  • Contribute to Price-to-Win data gathering and competitive research.
  • Support color team reviews by preparing pricing materials and incorporating feedback.
  • Assist in drafting Bases of Estimate with clear documentation of inputs and methodologies.
  • Maintain organized pricing files and audit-ready documentation.
  • Coordinate with Pricing, Operations, and Capture teams to validate inputs.
  • Perform quality checks on data accuracy, formulas, and compliance with instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support CGS’s overall business development strategy.
