About The Position

This position will be joining our Market Risk Management Department, assisting the department in overseeing the front business units’ market risk, ensuring the Bank’s risk exposure within risk appetite framework, protecting the Bank with safe and sound risk management and complying with required regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred, Finance or Quantitative related majors preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in finance or banking
  • Sound Risk management knowledge such as trading/banking book market risk and counterparty credit risk management; regulatory and compliance knowledge; financial/ banking industry knowledge; Volcker Rule; Quantitative analytics, etc.
  • Bilingual in Chinese is a plus

Nice To Haves

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Financial Risk Management (FRM) certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Independent oversight and monitoring of market risk key activities (30%)
  • Review and challenge Front Line Units’ market risk management practice, identify and assess the risk, and recommend mitigation measurement
  • Perform market research, analyze market data and price movements, and make recommendation on risk hedging strategies
  • Coordinate with other department to identify, measure, monitor and track market risk exposure and limits and analyze future trends
  • Enhance and improve related risk management processes and practices, make suggestions on related risk control methods and risk indicators
  • Conduct risk limit review and propose new risk limits based on global markets business development needs and market dynamics
  • Leverage the Bank’s infrastructure and data sources to build analytics platform to oversee the Bank’s market risk management (15%)
  • Work with Front Line Units to enhance the bank’s analytical capability and various scenario analyses
  • Build the department’s capabilities in risk data aggregation including exposure, key risk indicators and other risk metrics
  • Related risk management system construction
  • Risk Governance (20%)
  • Lead and coordinate regulatory examinations, and address regulatory inquiry, concerns and issues
  • Develop and improve the policies and procedures at both branch and departmental level (20%)
  • MLRC Secretary (10%)
  • Organizing, managing and coordinating the general operation of the MLRC; Collecting, reviewing and disseminating the materials presented to the MLRC for discussion prior to the meeting to ensure that the reports and documents are properly submitted in accordance with the MLRC’s specifications
  • Reviewing agenda of the MLRC to ensure that every motion is submitted in accordance with the established process
  • Disseminating necessary information to the RMICC when appropriate, upon receiving authorization from the MLRC Committee Chairperson
  • Assisting the MLRC members in collecting relevant information, and requesting relevant departments to provide certain data and materials
  • Providing relevant information and materials per reasonable requests; Performing other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by the MLRC
  • Risk Reporting (15%)
  • Prepare MRD’s risk reporting materials for RMICC and USRMC; Conduct departmental risk management reports to HO on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis; Coordinate with relevant departments to fulfill HO ad hoc tasks in bilingual
  • Departmental Administration & Support (10%)
  • Coordinate department business administration and support including ID and System Access, helpdesk request, quarterly recertification, physical asset annual review, IT budget, etc.
  • Coordinate departmental/intra-department training program
