About The Position

The Preventive Maintenance (PM) Service Technician conducts all assigned work safely, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies and procedures. This role involves performing preventive maintenance tasks such as changing engine fluids, filters, lubricating and cleaning components, and testing equipment performance. The technician also makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment and supporting systems in the field. Key responsibilities include providing detailed documentation and photos to the PM Dispatcher and Service Estimator for identified repairs, maintaining company service literature, staying updated on technical changes, and attending required training sessions. The technician is expected to work neatly, adhere to contamination control guidelines, and continuously seek improvements in work methods, area, and safety standards. Flexibility to work nights and weekends is required, and all necessary documentation for customers and the PM Dispatcher must be completed. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years experience
  • Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and relevant Dealer software programs.
  • Has technical knowledge of products represented by the company.
  • Job requires problem solving ability, established examples / guidance are not always available.
  • Job requires some creativity to generate solutions or improve effectiveness within well-established boundaries.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental and contamination control policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Wears proper personal protective equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance to include, but not limited to: changing engine fluids, filters, lubricating and cleaning components/parts, and starting equipment to test performance.
  • Maintains /makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment and supporting systems in the field.
  • Supplies all required information, supporting documentation, and photos to the Preventive Maintenance Dispatcher and Service Estimator for repairs and additional services identified during scheduled preventive maintenance visits.
  • Maintains personal company service literature, maintain a high awareness of technical changes in the industry, maintain tools required for this position and attend training sessions as required.
  • Works in a neat and orderly fashion, adhering to contamination control guidelines and constantly looking for ways of improving the methods of work, work area, and safety standards.
  • Maintains flexibility of schedule to regularly work nights and weekends as required.
  • Completes all required documentation to be provided to the customer and PM Dispatcher.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
