About The Position
We're hiring a Preventive Maintenance Mechanic to work in our fully climate-controlled shop to keep our fleet running strong and reduce breakdowns through consistent PM inspections and services. This position focuses on medium-duty diesel trucks and pickups, plus routine maintenance and inspections of hydraulic systems on equipment. One who can spot issues early and flag them before they become a breakdown or safety problem. Mostly shop-based work in Virginia Beach, with one week of travel out of town per month (mobile/field support). Hotel covered, per diem provided, and paid travel time.
Requirements
- Previous hands-on experience performing preventive maintenance on medium-duty diesel trucks and/or work fleet vehicles
- Experience servicing and maintaining hydraulic systems (inspection, fluids/filters, leak checks, basic troubleshooting)
- Strong understanding of service intervals and the ability to follow PM checklists
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and document findings clearly
- Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus, not required)
Nice To Haves
- Experience with hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, and basic diagnostics
- Familiar with Cummins / Duramax / Powerstroke platforms
- Basic electrical troubleshooting / scan tool familiarity
- Fleet maintenance software experience
- DOT inspection knowledge
