About The Position

A Preventative Maintenance Technician assists the entire production line to ensure all preventive and predictive maintenance activities are completed promptly. Performs duties of average difficulty requiring initiative and independent judgment under minimal supervision. Maintains all types of equipment, including CNC machines, parts washers, robotics, leak testers, conveyor systems, and other related machinery. Uses scissor lifts, power and hand tools, grease guns, vacuums, and pumps. Should have the ability to be flexible to any work given on an as-needed basis. Must take necessary action to work safely, minimize equipment downtime, and maximize production. Overtime is required on an as-needed basis to complete projects during production downtime.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining all equipment and buildings, and grounds by performing preventative and predictive maintenance tasks.
  • Developing new and following existing preventative maintenance schedules, instructions, and tasks.
  • Working with production and maintenance technicians to schedule and perform lubricating, cleaning, and other servicing activities on all production equipment.
  • Documenting completed tasks and checks in a spreadsheet. Updating equipment meters, preventative maintenance records, work orders, time, and comments into a computer-based maintenance program.
  • Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining oil carts and grease guns used on the production floor.
  • Making and installing signs, signboards, and machine labels.
  • Assemble and move shelving, tables, carts, etc.
  • Assisting maintenance and production personnel with tasks as needed.
  • Other 5S projects assigned.
