About The Position

Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work hands-on alongside maintenance team members. Maintain oil levels in equipment. Lubricate and grease machines as indicated by PM’s. Clean up oil leaks or water leaks as needed. Clean equipment as indicated by PM’s. Change filters as indicated by PM’s. Carry out routine checks on the production floor each morning. Ensure that safety standards are maintained while performing duties. May be required to assist in the movement of equipment and materials. Evaluate and make recommendations for improvements to preventative maintenance processes and procedures to maintain optimal equipment efficiencies. Replace and repair parts on machines such as air and oil filters, grease canisters, gauges, and switches. Perform other related duties as assigned. Skills and Requirements: Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) or related trade school education. Must have strong mechanical skills as well as common sense. Must be a team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to proactively communicate any issues that could become a future problem. Must have a lockable toolbox with a variety of common hand tools. Technical Skills Ability to use a variety of common hand and power tools. Able to use a computer to log work orders. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with employees of the organization. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is also required to stand; use hands for fine manipulation work; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. Additionally, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
