Morris Midwest, is a division of Morris Group, Inc., one of the largest machine tool distribution networks in North America. It is a regional distributor of CNC machine tools, tooling and accessories, and related engineering and support services. We are seeking a motivated Preventative Maintenance Technician willing to learn. This role will provide exciting opportunities to work for a multidimensional company in a fast-paced, growing industry.

Requirements

  • Proficient English verbal and written communication and customer relation skills.
  • Able to interact and effectively communicate in person and over the phone with customers and co-workers.
  • Present a professional image.
  • Must be adaptable to changes and able to handle delays or general work-related issues.
  • Basic digital literacy and proven understanding of MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must have, and/or be willing/capable of being trained to develop, electro-mechanical skills (motors, drives, transformers, etc.).
  • Knowledge of machine tool manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance & repair and/or a broad shop background is a plus.
  • Basic mechanical and logical troubleshooting skills are a must.
  • Rational decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Manufacturing experience in CNC machine tool repair is a plus.
  • Experience with multi-control systems environment is required, troubleshooting skills a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent technical, communication, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide scheduled maintenance of CNC production equipment using hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
  • Travel daily from home to customer facilities with occasional overnight hotel stays for servicing remote customer locations or participating in remote training programs.
  • Demonstrate a desire to help others and be a team member.
  • Apply machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal and vendor resources to research machine parts and service.
  • Provide a direct communication link between the customer and the Morris Service Group.
  • Align with safety laws and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
  • Promote and perform preventative maintenance on customer machine tool equipment and conduct maintenance training for customer employees.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company.
  • Build brand dedication through service and customer relationships.
  • Conduct travel and work in a safe manner, constantly learning new technology and soft skills.
