AHFC is currently recruiting for a Preventative Maintenance Laborer based out of Anchorage. This is a Union position with an hourly rate of $24.20, non-exempt, non-supervisory. This position is a statewide traveling role headquartered in Anchorage, requiring periodic travel to locations such as Cordova, Fairbanks, Juneau, Ketchikan, Kodiak, Nome, Seward, Sitka, Valdez, Wasilla, Wrangell, and Bethel. While in Anchorage, the standard 40-hour workweek is observed, with occasional opportunities for overtime. During statewide travel, to the aforementioned locations, there is additional opportunities for overtime. The primary purpose of travel is to assist site maintenance staff with projects, or working closely with another statewide traveling maintenance mechanic. This position is primarily responsible for performing semi-skilled and/or unskilled maintenance and repair tasks on the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation buildings, apartments, grounds and equipment. Work involves basic knowledge of heating, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, pest control, cement/masonry, electricity, painting and other finish work. Work may involve a variety of duties requiring moderately physical labor and the use of chemicals, tools and mechanical equipment.
