About The Position

The Maintenance Coordinator - Preventive Maintenance is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to preventive maintenance (PM) programs in the manufacturing facility. The role ensures that all equipment, machinery, and systems are properly maintained to minimize downtime, extend equipment life, and enhance production efficiency. The Maintenance Coordinator will work closely with maintenance teams, production departments, and management to implement effective maintenance strategies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance coordinator or similar role in a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on preventive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance processes, industrial machinery, and equipment in a manufacturing setting (CNC machines, conveyors, hydraulic systems, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of maintenance management software (CMMS) for scheduling, work orders, and inventory management.
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Certification in Industrial Maintenance, Reliability, or a related field (e.g., CMRP, CBM, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with automated systems, PLCs, and robotic systems.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule for all production equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
  • Ensure all preventive maintenance tasks are completed on time, as per the maintenance schedule, and within operational guidelines.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to prioritize critical equipment for PM and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Monitor equipment performance and maintenance history to identify patterns and proactively address potential issues before they impact production.
  • Coordinate with maintenance technicians, machine operators, and other departments to schedule PM activities with minimal impact on production schedules.
  • Ensure that all necessary tools, parts, and materials are available for preventive maintenance work.
  • Schedule routine inspections, lubrication, and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal functioning and prevent breakdowns.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, completed work orders, and parts inventory.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of preventive maintenance procedures, records, and work orders.
  • Generate regular reports on preventive maintenance activities, including completed tasks, parts used, and equipment performance.
  • Review and analyze equipment failure trends, recommend improvements to the PM program, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and internal policies in all maintenance activities.
  • Provide support for troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise, offering guidance to the maintenance team for effective problem resolution.
  • Work with the maintenance team to ensure that root cause analysis is performed on any unscheduled downtime to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Manage the inventory of spare parts and tools required for preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring stock levels are adequate.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to order necessary parts and materials in advance of scheduled PM activities.
  • Review and assess the usage of parts to identify opportunities for cost savings or process improvements.
  • Ensure all preventive maintenance activities are performed in accordance with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and company policies.
  • Conduct safety audits, ensure proper lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures are followed, and promote a safe work environment.
  • Assist in conducting training sessions for maintenance personnel on safe work practices and proper maintenance procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to preventive maintenance processes, aiming to increase machine uptime, reduce costs, and enhance equipment reliability.
  • Work with the engineering team to implement new technologies or techniques that can improve the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance program.
