About The Position

The Pretrial Services Officer is responsible for reviewing court dockets and preparing pretrial paperwork to assist courts with pretrial release and supervision conditions. This role involves interacting with defendants, attorneys, and court participants, ensuring compliance with court orders, and maintaining accurate records in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited university or college, or any other field with relevant experience.
  • One year of full-time paid experience in a Criminal Justice setting or two years of volunteer experience in a Criminal Justice or Social Sciences setting.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Public speaking and excellent documentation skills.
  • Ability to perform tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated tolerance for diverse populations.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of customer service experience interacting with the public.
  • Experience with interviewing and report compilation.

Responsibilities

  • Process all personal bonds, court orders, and Public Safety Reports using JWEB and other systems.
  • Instruct, collect, and enter defendant information into the case management system.
  • Inform defendants about court dates, rules, and conditions of release.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and court participants regarding defendant supervision matters.
  • Testify in court as required.
  • Review dockets for in-custody defendants and present compliance progress to the court.
  • Update defendant bond conditions and reporting intensity in the case management system.
  • Address pending pretrial matters with the court.
  • Perform tasks accurately within demanding time frames.
  • Function effectively in a team environment and serve as backup to other Judicial Liaison Officers as needed.
  • Support call center and monitoring unit as needed.
  • Perform other related duties and work overtime as required.
