Where hard stuff is done right!!HII Unmanned Systems is seeking an experienced Pressure Room Technician to come join our team! Your duties and responsibilities include the following: What you will be doing...Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions. Exclude technicians working in production or quality assurance.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years related experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance
  • Physical RequirementsMost work is performed aboard ships or in industrial conditions. Shop, shipboard, warehouse, industrial environment. May be exposed to fumes and irritants including welding/burning fumes, paints, oils, greases and various cleaning solutions and solvents, noise, high heat and humidity hazards while wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

  • Operate hydrostatic pressure chambers and associated equipment to validate pressure ratings of UUV components.
  • Configure fixtures, seals, penetrators, and instrumentation for repeatable and safe testing.
  • Execute pressure test procedures including ramp profiles, dwell periods, and leak detection verification.
  • Monitor system performance, alarms, and safety interlocks during live testing.
  • Troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems including pumps, valves, actuators, sensors, PLCs, and control panels
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance on pressure vessels, pumps, filtration systems, plumbing, and controls
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical failures
  • Maintain accurate test documentation, maintenance logs, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Enforce safety protocols including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and high-pressure system safety standards
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve fixturing, reliability, safety, and throughput.
  • Train and mentor Level I and Level II technicians.
