About The Position

Join our team as a Pressroom Supervisor, where you'll provide dynamic leadership and direction to our pressroom staff. Your role will be crucial in overseeing all aspects of production, ensuring goals are met, and managing expenses effectively to stay within budget. Collaborate with the Pressroom Manager to drive a winning culture and maintain a high standard of quality.

Requirements

  • Strong employee development and coaching skills
  • In-depth knowledge of print technology and bindery, with a basic understanding of prepress
  • Ability to function in a team setting and relate to various levels of people
  • Above-average judgment and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Computer aptitude for using production databases and shipping computers
  • Access to a phone and internet at home for weekend delivery emergencies
  • Flexibility to adjust schedules as needed
  • At least 2 years of formal education/training in printing/graphic arts
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years of proven experience in the supervision of a production pressroom environment preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of production environment experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule personnel to ensure the pressroom, bindery, and shipping departments meet daily workloads.
  • Direct daily production, focusing on quality and on-time shipping. Collaborate with Customer Service and Technical Support to maintain quality standards.
  • Innovate and streamline pressroom systems, productions, and processes, staying updated on printing technologies and equipment.
  • Participate in cost analysis for new equipment, ensuring proper maintenance of existing equipment, and providing training for pressroom employees.
  • Assist the Pressroom Manager in a range of supervisory responsibilities, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Facilitate the pressroom safety program, adhering to OSHA and local regulations.
  • Assist in the department as needed, covering production positions, performing minor maintenance, and other responsibilities assigned by management.
