About The Position

The Pressing & Refining Operators report to the Utility Operator. This role is the final portion of soy sauce production. This position requires a high level of detail and mechanical aptitude to be successful. In this role one can expect to use various equipment to either press out soy sauce or create variations of the final product including high viscosity items.

Requirements

• High School degree or GED.
• Ability to effectively communicate.
• Highly detail oriented.
• Understanding and knowledge of basic mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Working with high and low hydraulic oil pressure.
• Starting the charging machines and monitoring their operation.
• Running a hoist to lift stainless-steel plates and lower them into the charging machine.
• Recording the times of the start, finish, and number of folds.
• Performing general cleaning.
• Reading digital timers and clearing and resetting them.
• Pushing buttons, opening valves, and preparing to move the cake.
• Opening an air valve and pushing the cake while on an air pallet.
• Aligning the cake under a steel cage and lowering the cage over the cake.
• Checking the final alignment when settling the press.
• Removing the top portion of the cage and replacing it on an empty cage waiting to be washed.
• Blending and cooking ingredients based on recipes.
• Heating products based on SOPs.
• Filtering and sedimentation.
• Operating forklift to retrieve and stock ingredients.
• Loading and unloading tank trucks.
• Complying with all departmental and company-wide food safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
