About The Position

Press Technician - HP Indigo | B Shift Compensation $24.00 - $34.00/hour + $0.50 shift differential (based on experience and certifications). Non-exempt. Schedule: B Shift Sunday - Thursdays, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM (+Fridays and/or Saturdays during Peak seasons) RPI Print, a global leader in print‑on‑demand manufacturing, is hiring Press Technicians to support and maintain our HP Indigo Series 3 & Series 4 digital press fleet . This role ensures equipment uptime, print quality, and smooth production operations in a fast‑paced, high‑tech environment. What You'll Do Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HP Indigo Series 3 & 4 presses Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic issues Partner with HP support teams and onsite Field Service Engineers (FSEs) for diagnostics and escalations Maintain UTKs, service documentation, and accurate spare-parts inventory Support equipment startups, installations, upgrades, and new product launches Uphold strict safety standards (PPE, Lockout/Tagout, chemical handling, ergonomics) Respond to HelpDesk tickets and resolve equipment downtime quickly and accurately Perform remote diagnostics with Level 1/2 teams Rebuild major components, optimize machine operations, and support continuous improvement Collaborate with operators and technicians to deepen technical understanding across systems Assist with press operation during peak periods or emergency coverage required Maintain excellent communication, including clear daily pass-downs What We're Looking For 2+ years of experience maintaining digital presses or comparable industrial equipment Strong preference for: HP Indigo certification , HP Tech Training, or Indigo Academy coursework Experience with HP Indigo Series 3, Series 4, 18K, or 7250 presses Experience with Canon iX inkjet nice to have! Strong technical proficiency in: Mechanical & electrical troubleshooting PLCs, sensors, stepper/servo motors, motion control systems Electrical wiring, control panels, and safety interlocks Reading circuit diagrams, relay ladder logic, and performing RCA Using voltmeters, ammeters, and precision diagnostic tools Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and document work clearly Comfortable working overtime, weekends, and peak‑season schedules Maintains positive working relationships and supports a collaborative team environment Education & Training High school diploma or equivalent required HP Indigo certifications (any level) strongly preferred Commitment to continuous learning through HP trainings, tech events, forums, or best‑practice exchanges Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to reach, bend, and stoop safely during equipment service Ready to join a high-performing team in a modern print‑on‑demand facility?
