The Press Operator Lead - 3rd Shift is an essential member of the team, responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions, while leading/supervising a team of print operators. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous Supervisory / Team Lead experience required.
  • 1+ years as a Printing Press Operator experience and/or training required
  • The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees timekeeping, attendance, performance reviews, training, and development
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
  • Manages Press Operators performing the following duties:
  • Adhering to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Reporting all safety concerns or issues to management.
  • Maintaining clean and safe work environment and area by completing daily housekeeping assignments.
  • Completing make-ready in accordance with the Job Ticket and Product Specification documents to ensure correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers are used.
  • Completing all required quality checks related to product specifications, visual, and functional checks; completing all press-side quality checks.
  • Operating press to produce product in accordance to customer specifications while maintain quality, waste, and press efficiency.
  • Maintaining consistent quality during the production run. Critical quality checks includes: copy, color, and registration, and ink adhesion. Ensuring conformance to all other quality checks.
  • Completing all related procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements as outlined in the BRC standard.
  • Completing press make ready’s in an efficient manner.
  • Completing all required equipment maintenance duties.
  • Cleaning plate, cylinder, and ink pans, and lubricates press as needed.
  • Inputting all required information into the Radius system for material usage and time in an accurate and prompt manner.
