This role will assist the Press Operators in setting up and operating the printing press to produce pressure-sensitive labels and related products on paper, plastic, foil, and film materials. Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to read and interpret rulers, scales, and other measurement devices.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently is required to walk
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in a manufacturing environment, printing or packaging industry experience strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Follows guidance and direction from the Press Operator.
- Reads job order and loads dies into press, installs print cylinder on shaft, and installs print cylinder in press.
- Cleans plates, print cylinders, and dies as needed.
- Removes trash as needed.
- Mount press plates.
- Ink station clean up.
- Stage upcoming jobs and prepare the press carts.
- Assists in the performance of daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance as required.
- Supervisor must approve all maintenance.
- Mixes inks to produce and maintain desired colors and viscosity.
- Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards.
- Learn how to assist the Press Operators in the daily operations at the press.
