The Press Operator is responsible for completing projects/tasks assigned to them by the Shift Supervisor Essential Duties and Responsibilities Knowledge of operations of press to include how to power-up and shut down a press. Reads and understands print tickets. Completes press pre-run set-up checklist. Knowledge of all aspects of Mounter’s “proof”, relative to bag dimensions, print locations, eye spot locations, plate register. Knowledge of how to ink up ink stations Ability to produce high quality product on all jobs. Knowledge of inks & mixing, color matching, toning, ink “work-off” & applications, and ink disposal. Knowledge of film and applications “press tracking” with regard to tensions, print locations, rewinding. Ability to insert roll shaft into roll of film and secure on press. Ability to remove roll shaft from roll of film and transfer to skid. Inspects printed material of printed roll. Cleans ink stations and printing plates. Ability to identify and complete all forms relative to quality, inventory, maintenance, product identification and production tracking. Ability to at a minimum identify and properly communicate all press related problems. Performs related duties to hazardous waste handling, including but not limited to: following waste handling procedures, storage requirements and emergency/contingency plan procedures Performs other job-related duties as assigned subject to reasonable accommodations.
