About The Position

This position is for a Press Operator, suitable for individuals who enjoy working with their hands. The role involves maintaining a clean and orderly work area, adhering to safety regulations, identifying and reporting defective materials to the department supervisor, and operating and monitoring machines. Key tasks include setting up, operating, or tending machines to perform various metal or plastic material processing operations such as sawing, cutting, shearing, slitting, punching, crimping, notching, bending, or straightening. The employer is background friendly and offers an immediate start.

Requirements

• Must be able to read and write English.
• Must be able to do some heavy lifting (25 to 50 lbs).
• Must be able to work in a hot/cold environment.
• Must be able to sit/stand and do repetitive motions for their entire shift.
• Must be able to bend and twist throughout the day.
• Must be able to work some overtime if needed.
• Must be able to use basic hand tools.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Must be able to operate a machine in a safe manner and adhere to all guidelines and PPE requirements at all times.
• Must be able to follow simple basic instructions.
• Good hand and eye coordination.
• Excellent attendance (ability to arrive to work on time, as scheduled on a daily basis).
• Attention to detail and SAFETY a must.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum educational requirement is high school diploma, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
• Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material.
