Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Previous experience as a press operator or in a manufacturing/production environment is a plus.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints, work orders, and technical instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to stand, lift, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures in a manufacturing setting.
  • Mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Work in a facility with loud noise, extreme temperatures, and environmental stressors.
  • Sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, crouch, reach, and grasp as needed.
  • Wear the required PPE, including eye and hearing protection, gloves, and safety toe footwear.
  • Manual dexterity and specific vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment).
  • Stand for long shifts.
  • Effective communication, basic math skills, and teamwork.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and address hazards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press machines according to production schedules and specifications.
  • Perform machine adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency during production runs.
  • Load raw materials into the press and monitor output to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency.
  • Conduct routine inspections of parts/products to meet quality control standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and report malfunctions or maintenance needs.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Complete required documentation, including production logs and quality records.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and machine changeovers as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and quality control staff.
