About The Position

Summary: This is an entry-level position that provides an introduction to Reelroom Operations and generalized tasks, including runsheet comprehension and roll identification. The Press Operator 1 is responsible for identifying and preparing rolls to run on the press, as well as general housekeeping, press cleanup, and maintaining the tools required for the job. In this role, you will also be introduced to setting ink, plating up the press, and webbing the press. This is a fully onsite role in Riverside, CA. What you will do: Analyze imposition run sheets to accurately determine the required roll sizes for press runs Plan and prepare rolls for multiple concurrent jobs on your assigned shift to optimize press efficiency Conduct thorough roll inspections, identifying any damage and preparing rolls for use by applying double-sided tape and constructing running paster patterns Become proficient in reel operation through hands-on training and consistent practice Adhere to all safety procedures at all times while maintaining a safe and organized work area through regular sweeping, mopping, and the proactive management of oil and debris Continuously develop troubleshooting skills and expand knowledge of press operations to diagnose web failures and identify root causes for breaks and unit malfunctions Actively participate in press setup and cleanup while providing guidance and support to colleagues as needed Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding work processes and any issues that arise Gain a comprehensive understanding of the web path and demonstrate proficiency in running the press Demonstrate competency in achieving proper ink-and-water balance and density targets during press runs Efficiently handle the installation and removal of plates and blankets as well as the purging of black and color ink rails What you will bring: Capacity to stand, bend, climb, reach and kneel repeatedly during a 8 hour shift Strong verbal, and written communication skills Exhibit competency in press console operations Ability to read and understand mark ups for page location and color positions on all runs Possess specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision along with depth perception and the capacity to adjust focus High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Benefits and Compensation: The hourly range is $18.00 - $22.00.
