About The Position

RRD is seeking a Part-Time Experienced Off Set Press Operator/Flexo Operator to work midday, assisting with periods of increased workload. The days and hours are flexible, making it a great opportunity for a retired experienced Operator looking to make some extra money. The position involves setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining various press equipment. Responsibilities include performing all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated, such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examining plates/cylinders for imperfections, checking for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, and adjusting tension and register. The operator will also make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production runs to meet and maintain quality specifications, as well as clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required. Periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer is also part of the role.

Requirements

• Experience operating a Flexo Press is required.
• Ability to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities.
• Skill to make precise settings of controls, settings, and adjustments.
• Ability to perform routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
• Knowledge of appropriate packing pressure needed for proper printing pressure.
• Skill in using a micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly.
