We are seeking a Press Operator for our Louisville manufacturing facility. A Press Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining narrow web flexographic printing presses.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma.
• Experience in narrow web flexographic printing.
• Strong understanding of web and splicing.
• Experience using solvent inks is a plus.
• Prior manufacturing experience.
• An FTA (Flexographic Technical Association) certification at any level is preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• High level of knowledge of the flexo system from pre-press to finished product.
• Understanding of plate mounting and ability to use a spectrophotometer.
• Forklift certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a narrow web flexographic printing press to print designs or lettering on rolls of paper stock.
• Check viscosity and P.H.
• Read job orders and prepare and mount ink cylinders, securing the cylinders inside the press.
• Operate the press through computer technology and adjust speed, tension, and alignment as needed.
• Inspect for imperfections or off-center impressions.
• Mix inks or dyes to produce desired colors.
• Other duties as assigned.
