About The Position
The Press Operator I position at Gannett Publishing Services in Auburn, MA involves setting up the press conveyor and stacker system for press runs. The operator will be responsible for stacking down newspapers as directed and delivering them to the Mailroom for further processing. This role requires counting, sorting, and strapping bundles as needed, as well as assisting the press crew with all phases of setup, operation, maintenance, and housekeeping duties on the presses and within the department. The operator will train to understand the Offset reproduction process and will continuously work on developing the skills necessary to operate the printing presses and auxiliary department equipment efficiently. Adherence to all safety directives and company policies is mandatory, and the operator is expected to demonstrate reliability, punctuality, excellent communication skills, good mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic. Flexibility in scheduling, including night, weekend, and holiday shifts, is also expected.
