About The Position

This position is for a Press Operator 2. This position will start on 2nd shift (2pm - 10pm) or 3rd shift (10pm - 6am) and will transition to 12-hr rotating night shift (6pm - 6am) (Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday). Experienced candidates will be eligible for a higher pay rate.

Requirements

• 5 years of thorough knowledge of Flexographic printing procedures, materials and specifications, equipment, and safety requirements.
• Skill to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, press settings and materials needed to run the job successfully.
• Skill to make a variety of difficult precise web paths, and adjustments, and to perform routine operational maintenance of equipment.
• Skill in routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
• Knowledge of basic computer skills, excel, Word and Google, preferred.
• Skill in use of Mark Andy, Aquaflex, Comco, Webtron preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a number of press equipment.
• Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the Flexographic press operated such as mounting plates or installing print cylinders.
• Examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and check for correct positioning of images.
• Prep web paths, adjust tension and register, etc.
• Make necessary color correction and anilox adjustment and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required.
• Perform periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.
