About The Position

We are a metal stamping facility looking for a press operator for our 1st shift operations. The position involves the operation of the production work center, including lube operations, press operations, inspecting parts and pack out. This includes safety, quality, productivity, and customer service, both internal and external. The operator will coordinate multiple press operations and control operation through complex automation systems. The job requires producing daily job assignments using WMS and following all safety procedures. The operator will communicate with shift supervisors, tooling engineers, quality engineers, and other work cell personnel regarding production problems and quality. The role also includes setting dies in a scheduled time frame to meet customer requirements and performing routine housekeeping in work areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred but not required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and above average dexterity.
  • Blueprint reading skills are helpful.
  • Basic math skills including percentages, decimals, addition, and subtraction.
  • Knowledge of press, dies, and set up operations.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in a production environment meeting schedules and rates.
  • Ability to change over dies in the standard time.
  • Excitement to learn a new skill.
  • Tendency to follow set instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proven team player.
  • Self-starter with a strong work record in safety, quality, and dependability.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the production work center including lube operations and press operations.
  • Inspect parts and pack out.
  • Coordinate multiple press operations.
  • Control operation through complex automation systems.
  • Produce daily job assignments using WMS.
  • Follow all safety procedures including Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Equipment Safety Analysis (ESA), and Area Safety Analysis (ASA).
  • Ensure environmental compliance after instructions from supervisor/environmental group.
  • Communicate with shift supervisor, tooling engineers, quality engineers, and other work cell personnel.
  • Set dies in scheduled time frame to meet customer requirements.
  • Perform routine housekeeping in work area(s).
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
