About The Position

The Progressive Die Press Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining progressive die stamping presses to produce high-quality parts according to specifications and production schedules. This role requires a strong understanding of progressive die operations, safety procedures, and quality control. The operator will ensure efficient machine operation, minimize downtime, and maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Working experience of manufacturing environment.
  • A minimum of 0-3 years related industrial machine shop experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operates Komatsu and Maypresses to produce machined parts according to blueprints, router package specifications and/or special instructions.
  • Understands and uses drawings, manuals, and work instructions to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work-piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Starts and observes on-going machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work-piece to specifications.
  • Prepares and verifies production machine operations on trial run to ensure accuracy of machine settings.
  • Selects tooling and fixtures pertaining to the production operation of various types of machines.
  • Checks tooling and replaces as needed to keep machine running.
  • Inspects parts for quality and appropriate tolerance using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and comparators.
  • Works within established feed and speed combinations.
  • Records the piece count and run time of the production times.
  • Verify dimensions and alignment of assembly.
  • Checks parts for conformance to specifications using micrometers, calipers and gauges and perform SPC
  • Recognizes and remedies minor machine malfunctioning or cutting action of tools. Major discrepancies are reported to lead or supervisor.
