About The Position

Consider joining Pennex as a Press Foreman at our Wellsville, PA location. The Press Foreman organizes operations on the press floor through direction from the Shift Supervisor. This is a nightshift position working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with rotating days and weekends.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience is required
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance
  • Ability to apply understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to operate equipment and can function independently or in a team environment
  • Possesses good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use various measuring tools and read blueprints to meet customer requirements
  • Ability to manage a team in a production environment
  • Adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of the business
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available
  • Regular attendance required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hydraulic press operation or similar experience is preferred
  • Previous leadership experience in manufacturing is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Organizes operations on the press floor through direction from the Shift Supervisor.
  • Delegates responsibilities to operators, leads and helpers.
  • Keeps the schedule moving, monitors production, quality, etc.
  • Performs intermittent quality checks and communicates issues to Shift Supervisor.
  • Provides supervisor coverage in absence of Shift Supervisor.
  • Collaborates with maintenance team; reports all mechanical or electrical issues.
  • Plans daily work schedules based on customer needs and meets expectations by supporting supervisors and performing the following duties:
  • Ensures production schedules are followed as required
  • Oversees labor hours required to complete assigned tasks
  • Monitors all overtime hours
  • Facilitates training and development of the press team
  • Tracks and documents daily production levels
  • Assists in weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end inventories
  • Operates equipment or handles materials to support production duties of press team to maintain process flow
  • Ensures that a neat, orderly work area is maintained; assists in general shop housekeeping- ensuring successful execution of 6S initiatives.
  • Oversees age oven cycles to ensure acceptable quality metal is produced (Correct cycles and times).
  • Follows company rules and regulations regarding work and safety practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
