Requirements

• Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have the ability to read, write and count.
• Must be able to read scale calipers and micrometers and understand the metric system.
• Must have demonstrated effective communications skills and the ability to be a team player
• Must have the ability to learn the job duties within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the supervisor.
• Must be able to lift approximately 40-50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Check orders and procedures for production.
• Inspect jigs and status of pallets before operation of equipment.
• Must be able to operate the following equipment and adjust as necessary: Head/tail stretcher. Cooling table Saw table. Chip collector. Loading machine. Pallet conveyor. Aging oven.
• Examine products for quality and defects using visual observations as well as calipers, micrometers, and a Webster Hardness Tester. Notify management of quality issues and possible causes and corrections.
• Discard defective/imperfect product.
• Remove and weigh material scrap bin. Maintain supply of pallets and transfer full pallets by forklift.
• Review equipment at start of every shift and assist with repair.
• Complete and maintain production reports and reports of equipment utilization/repair.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
