About the position

The Press Brake Operator at Turnkey Industries is responsible for producing a variety of sheet metal parts according to precise dimensional specifications. This role involves setting up and operating power brake presses, performing quality checks, and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and regulations. The operator will work closely with blueprints and schematics to produce high-quality finished products while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate power brake press to bend and form specific parts.
• Calibrate dies and ram; load programs into brake press for particular jobs.
• Perform quality checks on parts using measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.
• Interpret brake press formed dimensions and flat layouts for bend lines.
• Work from blueprints to produce finished products.
• Operate material-handling equipment including forklifts.
• Check equipment processing programs against work orders and drawings.
• Load, install, and set up tooling required for each job and part.
• Troubleshoot problems and make timely repairs.
• Analyze the quality and effectiveness of the work performed.
• Maintain tools and equipment in optimal working order and perform regular maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment and ensure adherence to safety guidelines.
• Observe safety and security procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Maintain open communication with team members and leadership.
• Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience with press brake/bending machines.
• Ability to manually set up, program, and prepare press brake machine.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
• Demonstrate the ability to safely operate tools and equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
• Ability to follow all company safety policies and procedures.
